Slide the slide forward and off the frame. Press the take down button in and lift the rear of the slide up. Remove magazine and pull slide back until the rear slide grasping groove lines up with the rear of the frame.
NOTE: CAREFUL the grips are very easy to break. Removal of the grips is done by inserting a screwdriver into the magazine well and pressing the grip latch in the rear of the magazine well back as the rear of the grips are pushed up at the rear. RE-assembly is one of the most difficult of any gun ever made unless you know the trick of turning the firing pin into a small cut in the slide and keeping it there as the slide is reinstalled. To re-apply the safety press the take down button on the rear of the frame and the grip safety will pop back out.ĭisassembly of the gun is simple and there are few parts. Squeezing it back in allows the gun to fire.
The Ortgies grip safety only functions when the firing pin is cocked, then it pops out.
